PRMBS/ROSERVER v1.80 05/01/93

Unless you have been running PRMBS v1.3x you should UNZIP the
file RS180DOC.ZIP and use the DOS PRINT utility to print out the
documentation it will go in more detail on how to setup and run the
system. The documentation file was 'printed' to a disk file from
Wordstar Pro v5.0 using DRAFT PRINTER format (CR-LF, FF, BS, commands
only)

This disk contains a few files of use. The first its the main run package

      RS180RUN.ZIP
      FIRSTRUN.BAT

Inside of it are all the executables.

RS177DOC.ZIP is the documentation file - NOTE - This file is not
really complete. This is a partial revision, begun by W2HOB for me and I
just haven't had time to finish it - I wanted to get this out the door. I
hope that a completely revised v1.80 doc will be ready by 1 June.
There is a file RS174-78.RME as well as RS179UPD.RME and RS180UPD.RME, they
supercede any conflicts in the main doc. Everything you need to get the
system running is there and much of the background explanations, but there
is still more to come. IF you still have questions please send me email.

To set up the system copy the entire contents of this disk to a
virgin directory (\BBS) and then type

      FIRSTRUN 1000 KA2BQE Brian Riley
                | | | +------ Sysop's Last name
                | | +----------- Sysop's first name
                | +----------------- System Callsign
+------------------------ Number of first message on system

subsititute the appropriate values for the number, call, and names

This will unpack the code creating directories and the mail file and
user file.

You may at this point type edit the sample file CONFIG.CON,
changing only the system call as appropriate, editing the Route strings
for your state/country/continent (sound difficult, but its obvious) The
type "CONSOLE" and a console only copy of the code will be brought up
after it settle down hit ESC, when it says "login:" hit ENTER, and when
it asks for password type "PRMBS" and hit ENTER. You now have the BBS
console. Enter the commands
QTH "Your city,ST" and ZIP yourzip
Then type "X" to exit the BBS. Now type CONSOLE and go through the
above login steps and you are ready to play with the BBS. The above
steps were to enter your QTH and ZIP inot the user database for the BBS
to use when creating forwarding headers.. They are checked at startup
so you had to logout and re-login to get them into the program. Now you
can play with the BBS.

   Some helpful commands:

CMDS - will give a total list of commands available
HELP - a list of the helps available
HELP xxxx - help for that topic (see above)
? xxxx - proper syntax for that command
STATUS - system status and user status
